A Study on Research Direction of Commercial Law in Islamic Legislation — focused on the suggestion of the need for research of the statute of Islamic law —

Islamic laws have not been introduced a lot in Korea. For the support of the Korean company expanding into Islamic region, research of commercial law of Islamic region is desperately needed. Accordingly, this study examined the direction of research of commercial law in Islamic legislation. In this study, the performance of the study in commercial law is investigated - focused on financial law, insurance law, international trade law, arbitration and business practices, etc. Directions for future research are as follows: (i) the study of the overall legal framework of Islamic law would be needed, (ii) the statute of Islamic law would be studied, (iii) proper research would be needed for effective corporate legal counsel, and (iv) collaborative research of legal expert and the Middle East expert would be desirable. In this article, legislation of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar is examined, which are a high proportion of trade with Korea. Upon this study, if the research into the legal system of the Islamic region is expanded, it would be able to minimize legal risks of the company expanding into Islamic region.
