지방자치단체 개최 전국단위 스포츠이벤트의 지역경제파급효과 분석 -입지상계수법 활용을 중심으로-

The purpose of the study was to analyze the impacts on the local economy of holding sports events on a national basis with an analysis on the structure of the local industry through the Regional I-O model by using the location quotient method (SLQ) based on regional input-output tables of the year of 2005 released by Bank of Korea in 2009. First, the impacts of holding ‘2011 National Elementary School Soccer Tournament for Hwarang’s Large Flag’ on the local economy presumably earned 37 billion and 968 million won for the amount of production inducement and 15 billion and 961 million won for the amount of value added inducement as well as 777 people of employment inducement. Second, the amount of value added inducement is comprised of employees’ wages of 6 billion and 68 million won, operating surpluses of 5 billion and 620 million won, a consumption of fixed capital of 1 billion and 636 million won, and taxes on the net production of 2 billion and 25 million won. In particular, concerning the period of stay for visitors, coaching staff stayed 10.9 days on average and school parents and cheering squads stayed 6.3 days on average, which is considered successful results of a sojourning sporting event. However, acquisition of stricter objectivity in input variables associated with consumption expenditure is required.
