초록
Although the fact that Jesus was a thinker in Politics and Social Science was accepted by many scholars, Jesus being a theorist in law is quiet unfamiliar. However, despite the awkwardness, it is impossible to deny Jesus as a legal thinker. I find the key of the legal thoughts of Jesus from the fact that Jesus hailed from Nazareth. Also, both the Gospel of Mark (1:14-15) and Luke (4:18-19) and the Sermon on the Mount show the same key as well. In these, Jesus presented his legal thoughts regarding new social and political order. The main idea of these preaches was about the advent of the kingdom of God and actualization of justice. Jesus taught, realized, and achieved the prophet Isaiah¡¯s theme about the justice. Jesus¡¯ interest in justice led him to try to end immoral economical structure and rule, unfair violence, cut off from a community, and so on, and this is his legal thought that he wanted to address through his teachings and sermons. The way Jesus understand the Law is apocalyptic radicalism. This stressed not only unconditional obedience to God and legal good deeds, but also condemnation of hypocrisy and unrighteousness. An aggressive party, which was a contemporary of Jesus, also supported the radicalism. However, Jesus was more extreme about the concept of God¡¯s kingdom as well as applying these standards. However, this methodology is not political, resistant, and discriminative. The rule and goal of Jesus are based on the statement that ¡°the kingdom of God is not within this World.¡± For this reason, Jesus criticized the defenders of existing orders and an aggressive party supporting the use of violence as a mean to pursue the absolute justice of the new kingdom of God. Furthermore, Jesus was a general leveler. Jesus had a high level of interest in the poor, the sick, women, and foreigners, but his missionary work didn¡¯t exclude a specific group of people especially such as the Jews, men, and the rich. The fact that his work was toward everybody in a community was well shown.
