한국전력공사의 해외사업진출에 관한 투자매력도 분석: 동남아시아 3개국을 중심으로

This paper analyses the attractiveness of KEPCO for entering 3 south east asia countries(e.g. Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia), through comparisons in three areas; macro economy structure, industry infrastructure, and law & Institution. According to the comparison evaluation, the results for attractiveness of 3 countries are summarizes as follows. First, within the framework of macro economy structure, Thailand is the largest country in view of the economy market size. Malaysia’s greatest merits are its price level, business cycle and country risk. On the other hand, Vietnam is the most attractive for international economy, even though they are similar to each other in terms of investment and consumption. Second, within the framework of industry infrastructure, Malaysia has very sufficient infrastructure in general. The quality of SOC(social overhead capital), logistics performance index, and ICT (information & communication technology) index are the best condition among them. The electric industry in Malaysia is also a promising project which can attract foreign capital. Third, within the framework of law & Institution, Malaysia and Thailand show a very similar pattern from the business environment viewpoint, from the governance viewpoint, and from the market accessibility viewpoint.
