기업의 사회적 책임(CSR)은 지속성장을 위한 전략적 노력으로 조직 성과에 영향을 줄 뿐만 아니라 조직 구성원들의 태도나 행동에도 긍정적 영향을 준다. 이 연구는 병원의 CSR 활동에 대한 구성원들의 인식이 친사회적 행동(prosocial behavior)에 어떤 영향을 미치는 지를 규명하였다. 국내 종합 병원에 종사하는 의사 및 간호사 대상 358명의 표본을 갖고 실증분석을 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 병원 CSR 활동 중에서 ‘경제적 CSR 활동’이 가장 높고, ‘재량적 CSR 활동’이 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 인식하고 있으며, 개인의 친사회적 행동들 중에서는 ‘조직에 대한 OCB’가 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 병원의 CSR 활동과 친사회적 행동의 관계에서는 ‘경제적 CSR’이 ‘동료에 대한 OCB’에 긍정적 영향을, 그리고 ‘재량적 CSR’이 ‘조직에 대한 OCB’에 긍정적 영향을 주고 있다. 셋째, ‘법적/윤리적 CSR’은 세 가지 친사회적 행동(‘동료에 대한 OCB’, ‘조직에 대한 OCB’, ‘배려행동’) 모두에 긍정적 영향을 주고 있다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여 학문적 의미 및 실무적 시사점을 제시하고, 끝으로 이 연구의 한계점에 대하여 논의하였다.
Abstract
CSR(Corporate Social Responsibility) is a strategic endeavor for achieving a firm’s sustainable growth. CSR can influence employees’ attitude and behavior as well as organizational effectiveness. This study purposes to investigate the relationship between medical doctors’ and nurses’ perception of CSR and their prosocial behaviors like OCB(organizational citizenship behavior) and caring behavior. The empirical result shows that 1) economic CSR is perceived high among CSR activities but discretionary CSR is low, 2) OCB toward organization is low among prosocial behaviors, 3) economic CSR is positively related to OCB toward individuals and discretionary CSR is positively related to OCB toward organization, 4) legal/ethical CSR is positively related to all prosocial behaviors toward individuals, organization and patients. Based on the empirical results, this study suggested the academic meanings and practical implications for hospital management, and discussed the limitations and further research directions.
