기술협력, 혁신 및 기업의 흡수능력에 관한 실증연구

국내중소기업들은 글로벌화의 가속화로 인하여 치열한 경쟁환경의 상황에서 기술혁신이 필요시 된다. 즉, 기업이 기술혁신 능력을 갖추지 못할 경우 성장과 수익의 감소로 인하여 기업의 생존은 불투명하게 된다. 본 연구는 대구경북지역 중소기업들을 대상으로 협력파트너로 가능한 외부조직들과의 기술협력 활동이 기업의 혁신성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 기업의 흡수능력에 따른 기술협력과 혁신의 관계를 규명하기 위하여 흡수 능력과 기술협력과의 상호작용 효과를 규명하였다. 실증분석의 결과는 기술협력은 혁신에 유의적으로 긍정적인 영향을 제공하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 기술협력의 영향은 실질적인 제안제도를 도입하고 있는 기업에서는 긍정적으로 나타났으나, 그렇지 않은 기업에서는 어떠한 유의적인 영향이 발견되지 못하였다. 또한 기업의 기술협력과 혁신의 상관관계에 있어서 기업의 흡수능력은 유의적인 영향을 제공하고 있음을 보여준다. 그러나 실질적인 제안제도를 도입하고 있는 기업과 그렇지 않은 기업을 달리 하였을 때, 기업의 흡수능력의 긍정적인 영향은 실질적인 제안제도를 도입하고 있는 기업에서만 나타났다. 분석결과는 자원의 제약에 한계를 드러내는 대구경북지역의 중소기업들은 기술협력을 통하여 혁신을 극대화함으로써 성장 및 발전을 도모하여야 하고, 기술협력을 통하여 체득되는 지식, 정보 및 기술을 더 효율적으로 활용하여 혁신성과를 극대화하기 위해서는 기업이 높은 수준의 기술 흡수능력을 가져야 함을 시사한다.
Abstract
Technological cooperation is needed to Korean small and medium sized firms under rapid globalization and competitive business environment. If a firm has no technology innovation capability, the firm could not survive due to decrease of growth and profit. Firms have technological cooperation to obtain either product advantage or the firm's advantage in markets. Using the firms located in Taegu- Kyongbook region, this study investigates the effect of technological cooperation on firm innovation, and examines the moderating effect of absorptive capability on the relationship between technological cooperation and firm innovation. Empirical results show the positive effect of technological cooperation on firm innovation. And the positive effect of technological cooperation is reported in firms having suggestion system, but in using firms not having the suggestion system, the impact of technological cooperation is not significant. The moderating effect of absorptive capability on the relationship between technological cooperation and firm innovation is reported to be positive. Moreover, the positive moderating effect of absorptive capability is statistically significant only in using firms having suggestion system. From the empirical results, Korean small and medium sized firms having limited resources should grow and develop through innovation resulting from technological cooperation, and have high absorptive capability to increase firm innovation performance by effectively using the knowledges, information, and technologies obtained from technological cooperation
