불교사상과 기업의 사회적 책임에 관한 소고

초록
세계경제 위기 속에서 해외시장으로 진출해야하는 글로벌 기업은 그 지역사회뿐만 아니라 다양한 나라의 법규와 제도를 준수해야 하며, 자신의 이익뿐만 아니라 이해관계자 모두를 배려해야 한다. 자칫 사회적 책임이행과 그에 따른 혁신은 기업에게 부담이며 고통일 수 있다. 혁신은 자각에서 출발하며, 다양한 이해당사자들의 일방적 주장의 이행이 아니라 경제적 사회적 환경적 포용력의 적절한 분배와 그 형평성을 찾아야 하는 것이다. 요즈음 제기되고 있는 자본주의 5.0은 공정한 사회와 자본주의의 융합으로서 후진국의 빈곤과 질병이 글로벌 시민에게도 영향을 미친다는 것을 알려주며 나 혼자만 잘살면 된다는 개인주의의 의식의 한계를 벗어나야 한다고 가르친다. 자본주의 5.0 즉 공정자본주의를 실현시키기 위해 필요한 도구가 기업의 사회적 책임이며, 여기서 한걸음 나아가 기업의 사적이익과 이해관계자의 이익을 일치시키는 공유가치창출을 통해 기업과 지역사회의 생산을 동시에 높이고 효율적 회사 생태계를 구축하여 많은 일자리를 창출하고 기업의 지속가능발전성을 높여야 한다. 공유가치창출을 위한 그 중심가치관은 바로 불교사상이다. 불교사상의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 보살사상의 정수는 이타행이라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 이타의 정신은 자리이타의 경영뿐만 아니라 윤리경영과 회향경영으로까지 연결된다. 윤리경영은 기업이 이익을 추구하는 과정에서 지켜야 할 가치와 연관되어 있는 개념이고, 회향경영은 기업이 경영을 성공적으로 수행한 결과 얻게 되는 경제적 이익을 어떻게 사회와 공유할 것인가와 관련된 개념이라고 할 수 있다. 불교경영패러다임은 과업환경과의 상호작용에서는 자리이타를, 일반 환경과의 관계에서는 회향을, 활동의 가치측면에서는 윤리성을, 그리고 기술적 성격으로는 지혜 경영과 변화주도를 그 특성으로 한다. 기업의 리더, CEO가 불교교리를 숙지하여, 이를 경영에 접목하여 실천한다면 그 기업은 세계적 기업으로 성장 발전할 수 있고, 그 이익은 국민에게 돌아가며 사회의 발전을 도모 할 수 있다고 본다.
Abstract
Global corporations that enter the global market in the global economic crisis must observe regulations and systems in various countries, and consider their own interests and interested parties at the same time. Innovation starts from proper distribution, fairness and tolerance which in some case do burden and cause pain to the corporation. Capitalism 5.0 that is the integration of fair society and capitalism says it that poverty and disease in the undeveloped countries influence citizens in the developed countries, so that they get over the limits of the national egoism. Actualizing the capitalism 5.0 or fair capitalism, it needs social responsibility of corporation. Moreover meeting the interests of corporations and interested parties creates the shared value, enhances productivity of corporation and regional societies, constructs effective business system, creates many jobs and increases sustainable development. There is Buddhist thought in the middle of creation of the shared value. The idea of Bodhisattva which is in the essence of Buddhist thought means the altruistic behavior or service. It can be perfecting others, ethical management and total dedication management. Ethical management is concerned with the value which must be observed in the process of pursuit for profits in the corporations. And total dedication management is concerned with how corporation’s profit must be shared with society. Buddhist management paradigm is characterized as perfecting of himself for perfecting others, total dedication, ethics, wisdom and change based management.
