MAKINORI의 표현효과를 이용한 텍스타일 디자인 연구

Recently, textile design is being conducted in the direction to pursue high quality of design that can satisfy both marketability and artistry, so they are performing active research and development for various expressions based on new materials and techniques. Makinori is the dyeing technique being mainly used to produce kimono, Japanese traditional costume. The manufacturing process of it is simple and easy, and it also has its unique expression effects like overlapping and also diverse polygons’ natural shapes. Thereupon, this study aims to examine the possibility of developing original pattern design by using Japanese dyeing technique, Makinori, and suggest creative textile design. First, this study examined the process of generation and concept of Makinori through literature review and figured out the characteristics of Makinori through research on the examples of Makinori. Second, as designing samples, the paper supported understanding on the processes and manufacture of Makinori and also its expressive effects and examined the formative characteristics of Makinori as well. Third, as the unit form of pattern design for textile design, the study designed the actual-size motif with 6 points, and with the method of rotation and combination, it designed geometric elements and modernized graphic line patterns. And the pattern design extracted went through simulation after 3D mapping on the textile products such as neckties, scarves, and cushions. It is expected that this study will support the development of various textile products based on the textile design of modernized sense suggested by utilizing the effects of formative expression of Makinori.
