지상파 및 인터넷에서만 방영된 19대 총선 관련 뉴스에 대한 대학생집단의 뉴스가치 평가에 대한 탐색적 연구 뉴스 공정성 개념을 중심으로

이 연구는 대학생들의 뉴스가치 평가를 바탕으로 지상파뉴스의 공정성 정도를 진단해 보고 그에 따른 정치성향별 차이를 살펴보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 19대총선기간 중 지상파 메인뉴스와 인터넷 ‘가장 많이 본 뉴스’의 선거 관련 뉴스 중에서 지상파에서만 보도된 뉴스와 인터넷에서만 보도된 뉴스의 가치평가를 실시하였다. 연구결과 대학생들은 지상파가 배제한 뉴스의 가치를 지상파가 선택한 뉴스가치보다 높게 평가하였으며 이는 통계적으로도 유의미한 결과를 보여 주었다. 특히인터넷에서 높은 관심을 받은 여당 관련 뉴스가 지상파에서 보도되지 않았을 때 이를 불공정의 한 범주로 인식하는 경향을 보였다. 또 보도할 만한 가치가 없다는 평가를 받은 뉴스에 대해서는 보수와 진보의 정치성향에 따라 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다는 점이 흥미로웠다. 이 연구는 대학생들의 뉴스가치 평가를 방송뉴스의공정성 평가에 접목시킬 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 향후 다채널 다미디어 환경에서 지상파뉴스의 공정성 평가방식에도 새로운 변화가 필요하다는 점을 시사해 준다고 하겠다.
Abstract
The fairness of news is a multi-faceted concept. The purpose of this research is to exlpore the possibility that audiences’ evaluations of news values can be included in the concept of fairness of news. For this purpose,we conducted the survey to evaluate the values on 19th General Election news that were reported not in Terrestrial Broadcasters’ news programs but in internet media(eg. portal or sns etc.). The results revealed that the students evaluated the values of internet media news higher than that of Terrestrial Broadcasters news. And also the evaluations of news values differed depending on the political positions (liberal-conservative). But there were no differences in news evaluations depending on political positions in case of the news without reporting values
