부모상실 대학생의 외상 후 성장 영향요인-사별, 이혼 가족을 중심으로-

Objectives: This study investigated the factors affecting posttraumatic growth (PTG) among university students experiencing parental loss, and it examined the differences between divorced and bereaved families. Methods: Data for this study were collected through the use of a survey instrument completed by 278 university students who had experienced parental loss. The survey consisted of questions about PTG, self-resiliency, meaning of life, and social support. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise regression. Results: Relative to the divorced group, the bereaved group reported higher self-resiliency, parental support, peer support, and PTG. Sex, meaning of life, self-resiliency, and duration of parental loss were found to be significantly impacted by PTG. In the divorced group, parental loss, meaning of life, and self-resiliency were significantly impacted by PTG. Female sex, meaning of life, and self-resiliency were significantly impacted by PTG among participants in the bereaved group. Conclusions: The researchers suggested practical family intervention strategies to support families with parental loss and to improve their quality of life.
