이혼소송 중 자녀양육권을 주장하는 어머니의 심리적 경험

The purpose of this study was to understand psychological experience of mothers insisting on the child-custody in the process of filing for divorce and figure out the essence and meaning of them. For this purpose, the researcher sampled seven mothers insisting on the child custody in the process of filing for divorce and collected data through in-depth interview. Data collected from 7 participants were analyzed using Colaizzi's phenomenological method. All the statements of participants were recorded, transcribed and analysed qualitatively. The results of the analysis can be summarized as follows. First, family relational background of psychological factors which mothers insisting on child custody in the process of filing for divorce experienced was ‘a concept that family is a field of agony and obedience’, ‘loathing of the husband’, ‘enduring not to be divorced for children’. Secondly, as a psychological characteristic which mothers insisting on the child-custody experience, it is shown that they insist on the child custody under the burden of nurture because of a symbiotic self-love. Third, as psychological embracement and a new start of a mother insisting on the child-custody in the process of filing for divorce, it is found that subject-groups are ‘accepting others as a subject of relationship’, ‘discovering myself as getting counselling’ and ‘restarting as a mother.’ Previously mentioned results represent that mothers insisting on the child-custody recognize their children as themselves to fill out psychological emptiness caused by parents and husbands, and struggle to insist on the child custody. In a regard that this study focused psychological experiences of women who are actually involved with ongoing divorce suits and provided therapeutic data, the result of this research will hopefully give a hand to counselors and lawyers.
