굿 디자인 선정 제품의 디자인트렌드 변화 연구 - 국내 가전제품을 중심으로 -

우리나라 가전업계는 기술력과 디자인을 바탕으로 꾸준히 글로벌 기업으로 성장해 왔다. 최근에는 기업들이 디자인의 수준을 인정받고 마케팅의 효과를 위해 국내·외 디자인 어워드에 작품을 출품하고 많은 상을 받고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 굿 디자인 어워드에 선정된 가전제품을 비교, 분석하여 어떠한 트렌드를 가지고 변화됐으며, 어떻게 발전해 나아갈지를 전망해 보고자 하는 데 연구의 목적이 있다. 국내 가전제품 디자인 트렌드의 변화를 알아보기 위해 히트상품 소비키워드 분석과 공식적으로 입증된 한국 우수디자인(GD)상품 선정과 핀업디자인어워드 2개의 굿 디자인 어워드를 선별하였고, 조사 범위를 핀업디자인어워드가 시작된 2005~2012년으로 하여 2개의 굿 디자인 어워드 본상 이상의 가전제품을 비교, 분석하였다. 그 결과로 국내 가전제품 트렌드는 사회적 이슈에도 영향을 받고 있으며 기술과 고객의 니즈(needs) 맞추어 계속 바뀌어 가고 있다. 형태적으로는 미니멀(minimal)하고 자연에서 모티브를 받아 감성적으로 변해가고 있으며 친환경적인 재료와 알루미늄과 같은 리얼 소재와 투명 플라스틱이 대중화되면서 점점 더 고급스러운 제품이 되어가고 있다. 앞으로는 더욱더 소비자 지향적인 제품과 환경을 생각하는 제품이 출시될 것이라 사료되고, UI(User Interface)와 UX(User experience)가 적용된 새로운 가전제품이 디자인 트렌드의 중요한 부분을 차지할 것으로 전망해본다.
Abstract
Korean home appliance corporations have grown consistently as global corporations based on technical power and design. Lately, corporations have exhibited works at design exhibitions at home and abroad and have been recognized. This study aimed to project how trends in home appliances have changed and how they will keep developing by conducting a comparative analysis of home appliances designated for good design awards in Korea. In order to discover any changes, selected good design (GD) in Korea that were officially proven and PIN UP design award. Regarding the scope of research, the study aimed at the period from 2005 to 2012 and a comparative analysis of home appliances that received at least the main prizes of two awards was carried out. As a result, the trend of home appliances was discovered to have changed continuously attuned to technology and customer needs, and it has changed into a sensible form for which the motive came from nature while being minimal. Also, as real materials such as environmentally friendly materials and aluminum have become popular and plastic, transparent, or opaque materials are used in more and more home appliances, home appliances have become gradually high-end. In the future it is assumed that products that are more consumer-oriented and environmentally sensitive may be released, and it is projected that the design trend of new home appliances applied with UI (User Interface) and UX (User Experience) will become more important.
