초록
This paper is to find determinants of employment for directly-employed, non-regular workers by analyzing 15 types of businesses in Gyeong-gi Province. We employ two methodologies: empirical analysis and case study. The empirical analysis shows that the management strategy mainly with price competition increases the rate of directly-employed, non-regular workers, but the ratio of operating profit to net sales and the existence of trade union reduce the rate of those. The relation between the labor cost and the rate of directly-employed, non-regular workers has the shape of the letter U. Case study shows 6 determinants of employment for directly-employed, non-regular workers; ⅰ) cost cutting. ⅱ) employment flexibility ⅲ) payable ability of corporations ⅳ) existence of trade union ⅴ) voluntary preference of non-regular workers ⅵ) stepping of regular worker. Both the two different methodologies support that the ratio of operating profit to net sale, the existence of trade union, and the labor cost have influence on employment of directly-employed, non-regular workers.
