초록
As globalization has become intensified, adjustment of international workers became important issues for practitioners and academic scholars. Most previous research were mainly focused on determinants of expatriate managers' adjustment. Few studies investigated how foreign workers can adjusted to local environment. More importantly, most studies did not figure out how personal roles influence on employees' adjustment by focusing on organizational roles like career paln. Therefore, we do not know the differential effect of individual and organizational role on employees' adjustments. This paper compares the impact of corporate career development activities and individual coping strategies on the adjustment of expatriate managers and foreign workers. This study extends previous research on expatriate adjustment by focusing both on corporate career development activities and individual coping strategies. The results from this study display that organizational factors and personal factors have differentiated impact on intercultural adjustment. In sum, the study indicates that individual role of expatriate managers and foreign workers should be considered as important factor as organizational role in facilitating expatriate adjustment.
