초록
본고는 가야로 옹벽디자인의 공공성과 어떻게 연접되어 있는지, 표층과 심층의미는 무엇인지를 추출하는 연구였다. 연구결과 표현의 의미작용은 흥미로운/삭막한 대립으로, 형상의 의미작용은 여유/바쁨의 대립으로, 환경의 의미작용에서는 도시/자연의 대립이 이접과 비이접, 연접을 통해 대립이 해소되고 있다. 담화구조에서는‘높은 삶의 질과 낮은 삶의 질’의 대립으로 미시적 대립구조가 발현되며, ‘자연과 도시’이라는 심층구조의 집합으로 형성하고 있다. 또한 표층구조는 행위주체와 수령자인 통행인들이 옹벽디자인을 통해 높은 삶의 질을 획득하고 있으며, 심층구조를 파악해보면 ‘높은 삶의 질과 낮은 삶의 질’의 대립을 이 텍스트와 관련지었을 때‘자연과 도시’라는 의소를 유추할 수 있었다. 따라서 ‘자연/도시’의 대립구조를 이 옹벽디자인의 본질적인 심층수준의 가치체계로 규정할 수 있다. 가야로 옹벽디자인은 삭막하고 무표정한 도시공간에서 시각적 아름다움과 흥미를 제공하고 이 지역의 개성을 표현하고, 이를 통해 가야로의 이미지 제고와 통행인들에게 삶의 질을 높이며 공공성을 유지하고 있다. 옹벽공간에 비해 디자인된 형상들의 사이즈는 아쉬움을 남긴다.
Abstract
This study subjected the roadside retaining wall design of Kayaro to analyze how the meaning is connected to publicness and what are the surface and in-depth meanings of it. As results, the contrastive structure, which is exciting/desolate contrast in expressional signification, relaxing/busy contrast in configuration signification and city/nature contrast in environmental signification, was being solved through disjunction, junction and connection. Contrasts of “high/low quality of life” in discourse structure were revealed through microscopically contrastive structure and formed aggregation of deep structure, “nature/city”. Also, the most important main body of an act is pedestrians, and the pursuing target is high quality of life. Analyzing the deep structure, we can infer the meaning of “nature/city” without the smallest strain when “high/low quality of life” is related to this context. Therefore, the contrastive structure of “nature/city” can be defined as a value system of the essential in-depth structure of the roadside retaining wall design. Kayaro retaining wall design provides the visual beauty and interest in the desolate and expressionless urban space and represents the characteristic of the region. This improves the image of Kayaro and the quality of pedestrians’ lives and maintains publicity. Considering the space for the roadside retaining wall, the size of the designed shapes was not satisfactory.
