정보기술의 발달로 인하여 많은 기업들은 기업경영에 정보기술을 도입시켜 활용함으로써 생산성과 수익성을 향상 및 경쟁력을 확보하기 위해서 노력하고 있다. 호텔기업들도 이러한 최근의 추세를 고려하여 호텔경영에 필요한정보시스템을 도입하거나 개발하여 유용한 경영정보를 도출하고, 이를 다양한 경영활동에 활용하고 있다. 호텔기업전반의 IT 관리를 체계화하고, 운영방안의 정립에 대한 필요성이 커지고 있는 상황에서 기업의 IT 성숙도 및 경영관리의 체계는 IT의 발전 속도를 따라가지 못하고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 제시되고 있는 IT 거버넌스(Governance)는 호텔기업들이 운영하는 정보시스템과 조직의 통제를 가능하게 하고, 기업경영과 운영에 대한 목표를 지원하도록 하며 경쟁력을 확보하는데 필수적인 관리체계이다. 본 연구에서는 호텔기업의 IT 거버넌스를 측정할 수 있는 지표를 개발하여 호텔기업의 IT 성숙도(Maturity)를 측정하며 IT 도입에 따른 IT 효과성에 대한 실무 직원들의 지각을 측정하고자 시도되었다. 실증조사를 위한 자료는서울시내 특급호텔에서 호텔정보시스템으로 업무를 진행하는 직원과 경영진 및 IT 관리자들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 수집하였으며, 다음과 같은 시사점을 도출하였다. 호텔 IT 거버넌스의 중요요인으로 제시된 정보보안 및 위험관리, IT 유지보수 및 표준화, IT 운영 전략, 정보 및 조직 관리의 순으로 IT 효과성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통하여 호텔 IT 거버넌스에 통제적 요소인 정보보안 및 위험관리가 가장 중요하며, IT 운영에 필요한 IT 유지보수 및 표준화를 통해 기업목표를 달성하는 전략을 수립하여 이를 뒷받침하는 정보 및 조직관리가IT 효과성에 영향을 미치는 것으로 제시되었다. 본 연구에서는 호텔기업의 정보시스템을 활용하는 직원들의 지각에서 IT 거버넌스의 중요요인을 추출하였고, IT 효과성의 성과를 도출시키는 중요요인을 제시하어 호텔기업의 IT 환경의 개발 및 발전에 필요한 시사점을 제시하였다.
Abstract
Due to the development of IT technology, many firms make sincere efforts to improve the productivity and theprofitability and to secure the competitiveness by introducing and utilizing the IT technology in their management andoperation. Considering this recent trend, most hotel corporations have introduced and developed the necessaryinformation systems for the hotel management, drawn out useful management information, and utilized the informationfor their various management activities. Although the IT management for a hotel's whole tasks is systematized, andthe need for setting the operation plan increased, a hotel corporation's IT maturity and business management's systemdo not catch up with the IT advancement speed. In order to solve this problem, IT Governance is proposed as asolution. It is an essential management system that enables hotel corporations to control their information systems andtheir organizations, to support their business management and operation, and to secure their competitiveness. This study tried to develop the indicators to measure a hotel corporation's IT governance level and to measure thehotel corporation's IT maturity level and the field workers' cognition on the IT effectiveness after the introductionof IT system. For the empirical research, a survey was conducted for employees working with the hotel informationsystem, and executives and IT managers in several five-star hotels located in downtown, Seoul. According to thesurvey data, this research found some important factors. They are in order of IT effectiveness influenced by theinformation security, the risk management, the IT maintenance, the standardization, the IT operation strategy, theinformation and organization management. This research drew out the important factors for IT governance from thecognition of workers utilizing the information system in hotel corporations, and suggested some crucial indicationsfor developing and advancing a hotel corporation's IT environment by suggesting the important factors to draw outthe outcome of IT effectiveness.
