법학전문도서관의 현황과 개선방안 - 2012년 인증평가 결과를 중심으로 -

Law School Library is one of the essential educational facilities to realize the ideals of education. According to the “Evaluation Standards” of the Law School Evaluation Committee, “Securing Libraries & Academic Information” is set as 1 of total 3 evaluation items of evaluating the entire education facility range; the whole education facility range is evaluated as “failure” if there is no law school library. Law school library represents a large portion of the entire education facilities. This study pays a close attention to the function and role of it and to its basic elements-“material facility,” “human resource organization & operating system,” and “law information service,” analyzing the current status of 25 law school libraries, pivoting on the foundational elements, based on the “2012 evaluation results of law school accreditation.” Then, on the basis of this analysis, the overall issue of the law school library will be reviewed, the improvement proposals will be suggested, and the additional evaluation standards that are related and the supplementations will be mentioned. In short, the ultimate purpose for the law school library is to provide law information services for the user, based on the combination of the library's human and material facilities. Therefore it is necessary to actualize the function of law school libraries even further through the revision or additional supplementation of the evaluation standards, or via the improvement of the law school library itself.
