This study focuses on the success story of Publix Super Market Inc. in United States. Publix stands as one of the largest US regional grocery chains that employ over 158,000 people at its 1,073 retail locations, offices, and Publix brand manufacturing facilities. Publix has won various awards related to corporate social responsibility and good workplace for employees. The purpose of this study takes lessons from the unique practices and efforts of Publix' CSR program. In order to achieve this propose, we investigated the history, mission, value, and performance of Publix from a variety of sources and reviewed the theory of CSR. Moreover, we made a thorough investigation into Publix' activities for social and environmental responsibilities. Consequently, we would conclude that a firm's CSR efforts will be rewarded with a healthy bottom line. As a case study of service operations management area, this study contributes to expand the concept of corporate social responsibility to one of key success factors in service industry.
