초록
Christian Sacraments have the socioethical dimension in its original forms and contents from the very early Church while the Scholastic theology in the Middle Ages changed Christian Sacraments as instruments to convey God’s grace to the individuals to participate in them. Some of the most recent sacramental theologies have tried to relate Christian sacraments to the socioethical responsibility for our current society, reflecting the early Church’s sacramental theology and practices. This is a study on the current theological discourses on the relation between Eucharist, one of the Christian sacraments and the socioethical responsibilities of Christians. And also the biblical grounds and historical evidences of the socioethical responsibility of the Eucharist are included in this research. The Korean Church and the Christians have been understood as the ones who are self–centered/ or only church–centered. This research helps the participants in the Eucharist, the grace of Jesus Christ to go beyond their boundaries such as their families and/or the church communities, being reminded of the socioethical responsibilities based on God’s justice and peace.
