환호공원 통합아이덴티티 디자인 개선 연구

The concerned study was a case research conducted in cooperation with Team Terranova of Pohang City Hall as a part of a project to grow an integrated design college of Yeungnam University in 2013. Since the completion of constructions, neighborhood parts in the city have been fulfilling their responsibilities only satisfactorily as places to improve the welfare of the citizens, providing them with chances to finally take a rest. However, even so, this lack of a management system of the parks were only making the city, Pohang, take care of the parks without any plans. In that regard, this study proposed how to form an integrated identity of the neighborhood parts in the city as discussing basic ways to manage the parks. First of all, the study selected Park Hwanho in Pohang as a research subject. This park was considered as the biggest park of all the other ones in the city, and it would consist of six differently themed-areas. Those areas with their own personalities built in Park Hwanho were least related to each other, and since the designs of the areas were irrelevant, Park Hwanho has never been succeeded in securing any solid identity of its own. In the light of the facts, the study analyzed problems of these six sub-parks of Park Hwanho to make plans to create an integrated identity of the whole park. The study, in the end, came up with practical ways to put the plans into practice. Not only that, while regarding the park as an ecological one, the study made sure that it could help the park establish an identity as a natural urban neighborhood park by making a good use of naturally-created green areas rather than making artificial changes in the park.
