초록
This study aims to investigate the employee's view of the Six Sigma and QualityManagement(SQM) system. We first propose the model to measure employee’s perception aboutSQM system in a factory which produces diverse telecommunications equipment. Such measurementmodel and their constituent elements were developed from a detailed analysis of the company'sdocumentation and activities as well as in-depth literature review. Reliability and validity tests wereundertaken to ensure that the questionnaires were a true reflection of the situation. The analyticalresults of individual elements are described for each factor and perception gaps both betweenmanagement and employees, and between production and non-production departments investigated. The result of the study revealed that the questionnaires, excluding the two variables(in-processinspection or checking, final inspection or checking), can be used to study the non-manufacturingdepartments. Management showed considerably strong commitment towards strategic qualitymanagement with equipment and inventory appropriately managed and controlled. From a managerialviewpoint of implementing the SQM system, management can understand how to manage andmotivate employees.
