입학사정관 전형 신입생의 입학 후 대학생활 적응에 관한 질적 연구
A Qualitative Study on the College Life Adaptation of Freshmen Who Were Admitted through Admission Officer System

본 연구는 입학사정관 전형 신입생들의 입학 후 1년간의 학교생활 적응 양상을 탐색하고 이해함으로써, 이들의 대학생활 적응을 돕는 교육적 개입과 지도 방안 마련을 위한 기초 자료를 수집, 축적하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 서울의 한 대학에 입학한 신입생 중 입학사정관 전형 입학생 15명을 대상으로 개별 인터뷰를 실시하고, 질적 연구방법 중 하나인 근거이론 접근방법을 통해 분석하였다. 주요 연구결과로는 첫째, 입학사정관 전형 신입생의 적응과 관련하여 112개의 개념, 47개의 하위범주, 21개의 범주가 도출되었으며, 입학사정관 전형 신입생의 입학 후 대학생활 적응 경험의 핵심범주는 “목표를 향한 노력과 시행착오를 통해 자기성장의 길로 접어듦”으로 요약되었다. 둘째, 입학사정관 전형 입학생의 적응 양상은 ‘목표유지형’, ‘노력극복형’, ‘용두사미형’, ‘시행착오형’으로 유형화되었다. 각 유형별로 나타난 대학생활 적응 양상을 토대로, 입학사정관 전형 적응유형에 따른 대학의 맞춤형 교육과 지원 측면에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to collect the basic data for educational intervention and guidance to help freshmen with adaptation to college life by investigating and understanding the types of adaptation to college life for one year after admission for students who were admitted through admission officer system. Individual interview was done with 15 admission officer system students in a university in Seoul. Grounded theory approach was used to analyze the results. The major findings were as follows: First, data analyses resulted in 112 concepts, 47 categories, and 21 categories. And the core category related to the adaptation of admission officer system students was “entering the way of self-growth through the effort to achieve goals and trial and error”. Second, the adaptation types for admission officer system students were “keeping goals”, “making efforts”, “great start but insignificant end”, and “trial and error”. Based on the adaptation to college life in each types, some suggestions about the specified education and support system from university were discussed according to the adaptation types of students.
