초록
This study, starting from the perspective of the interculturalism, is a criticalinterpretation of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea and the Korean identity, which are defined in the Constitution. In the middle of the interpretation, there are thequestions of We-the-people-Korea-identity and of constitutional values and categorieswhich justify this identity. Through this study, it is intended to claim that the things, which have been granted, could be questioned, thus a horizon could be openedgive a new meaning to culture. From this, it becomes clear that the Constitutionof the Republic of Korea lacks elements which could generate a space for culturalcommunication in the sense of ‘in-between’. Conversely speaking, it has elementsthat are too anachronistic to compatible with the ‘end’ that the multicultural society isaiming at realizing.
Abstract
This study, starting from the perspective of the interculturalism, is a criticalinterpretation of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea and the Korean identity, which are defined in the Constitution. In the middle of the interpretation, there are thequestions of We-the-people-Korea-identity and of constitutional values and categories which justify this identity.
