디지털 컨버전스 패러다임 환경의 GUI디자인에 관한 연구

초록
컴퓨터의 발달로 인한 정보화시대의 도래는 디지털기술의 영역을 넘어 우리 생활 전반에 확장되어 오고있다. 이러한 정보화 시대의 디지털화는 사회 환경의급격한 변화와, 문화전반에 있어서 커다란 전환을 가져오고 있다. 이러한 사회적, 문화적 변동은 첨단매체기기의 기능적대체(Substitutive)와 보완(Complementary)이라는 새로운 산업적 변화를 가져오고 이는 하나의 패러다임으로인식되어 지고 있다. 실례로, 개발 단계에 있어서 단지통신의 수단이었던 모바일폰이 기능적, 구성적으로 기타 많은 요소를 흡수함으로써, 관련산업 전반에 새로운수요를 창출하고 있는 시점이다. 이러한 첨단매체의 기능적, 구성적 흡수 및 융합을 디지털 컨버전스(DigitalConvergence)라 일컫는다. 디지털 컨버전스라는 거대한 변화의 물결이 온 세상을 뒤덮고 있다. 디지털 컨버전스는 디지털 기술의 발전에 따라 유선과 무선, 방송과 통신, 통신과 컴퓨터등 기존의 기술, 산업, 서비스, 사업자, 네트워크의 구분이 모호해지고, 새로운 형태의 융합상품과 서비스들이 등장하는 현상을 포괄적으로 일컬어지고 있다. 이렇게 디지털 기술의 발전에 의해 촉발된 디지털 컨버전스는 미디어 및 정보통신 환경전체에 커다란 변화를 가져오고 있다. 이는 소위 ‘언제. 어디서나, 어떤 미디어를 통해서, 또는 어떠한 매체기기로도 편리하고 경제적인 커뮤니케이션을 가능하게 하는 유비쿼터스(Ubiquitous) 환경을 가능하게 하는 원동력이 된다. 디지털 미디어의 융합이 사회적 화두로 떠오르고 있는 시점에서 사용자와 기기 간의 상호작용(Interaction)을 시․지각적으로 가시화시켜 커뮤니케이션하는 인터페이스 디자인(Interface Design)이 중요해지고, 그래픽기반의 GUI(Graphic User Interface)디자인이라는 영역으로 새로운 수요를 창출하고 있다. 따라서 이러한 그래픽적 요소가 디지털 컨버전스 패러다임에서 어떠한 작용을 하고 있는지 연구하고, 나아가서 다가오는 미래의 유비쿼터스 환경에 그래픽 디자인의 새로운 모티브를 제시할 수 있는 측면을 연구하는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 사용성 측면뿐만 아니라, 결합된 기능간의 충돌요소및 중복요소의 처리, 각 기능간의 상호관계와 기능의 결합에서 오는 잉여복잡성 등, 기기 내에서 그래픽 요소들이 기능할 수 있는 부분을 연구함으로써 앞으로의GUI디자인의 진행방향을 모색하고 이를 발전시킬 수있는 있는 방법을 연구하여야 할 것이다. 계속해서 첨단매체기기의 하드웨어와 소프트웨어의기술적 발전과 이에 따른 융합속도의 가속화가 예상되는바, 디지털 컨버전스 패러다임하의 GUI 디자인이 창출할 수 있는 진화의 가능성에서, 효과적이고 최적화된GUI 디자인의 모형을 찾는 계속적인 연구가 필요할것이다.
Abstract
As the computer has developed an we are nowliving in a information-oriented society. And thedigital techniques are now expanding into the dailylives of people. These changes are also bringing inversion to thesocial environment and culture. Which broughtindustrial change, such as substitutive andcomplementary on the functions of machines. As anexample, when the mobile phone was first developedthe main focus was 'a way of communicating' butnow the mobile phone is used for many otherreasons. The combination of the 'function' and'composition' of machines is called DigitalConvergence. Since Digital Convergence has been introduced,many changes have been made cable and wireless,broadcasting and communication, communication andcomputer technology are not separate elementsanymore. Thanks to Digital Convergence the Ubiquitousenvironment has become possible. In other words,whenever and wherever you need to communicatethere is comfortable and easy-to-access way tofulfill your needs. As the unification of the technologies have becomean important issue the interface design has alsobecome important because the interaction betweenthe users and machines play an important roll. Thatis why Graphic User Interface has become a newneed in the industry. Therefore, there is a need to find the effect ofgraphic elements on the Digital Conversion Paradigmand find new motives that are appropriate for theubiquitous environment. As the Digital Convergence Paradigm keeps on developing the GUI Design fieldhas to develop together. Further studies should bedone to find effective and accurate GUI Designmodels.
