아라미드 직물의 생활디자인 소재로서 미적 활용방안 -조명 디자인 적용 중심으로-

Due to the progress in modern science andtechnology, new materials with various and complexfunctions and performances could be developed. Therefore, creation of new products meeting with thenew sensuous trends is necessary by adding newaesthetic value to these new materials. In this study,by applying light and new texture to the new functionaltextile, various applications of the novel functionalmaterials to enhance the aesthetic values in design areaare proposed. By the literature study, industrial textilesfor specialty purpose were examined and, among them,fire-protective aramid textile was selected andexamined. By examination of applications of light totextiles, principle and characteristics of fluorescencewere studied. As a result, meta-aramid as a functionalmaterial and fluorescence as an element of aestheticsense were selected and compatibility was examined. Consequently, novel aramid design with aesthetic senseby fluorescence and new texture was proposed. Inconclusion, by expanding the application of industrialtextile to aesthetic area, the availability of designmaterials could be increased and new life designstrengthened functionally with new aesthetic sensescould be proposed.
