디자인 교육에서의 창의성 평가방법에 관한 연구

학생들에게 실시된 교육이 학생들의 창의성에 끼치는 효과를 관찰하기 위해서는 보다 타당한 창의성 평가방법을 필요로 한다. 본 연구에서는 건축디자인에서창의성의 중요특징들을 파악함으로써 체계적인 창의성 평가 방법을 모색하고자 하였다. ‘창의성 평가방법’ 적용범주는 ‘실내건축’ 분야로 한정하며 연구대상은 4년제 대학 ‘실내건축전공’ 2년생들로 하였다. 창의성 평가도구는 창의성 평가 관련 문헌을 고찰하고 이를 분석하여 개발하였다. 창의성 평가도구의 타당성을 검증하기 위한 케이스 스터디로,창의성 증진을 위한 지도계획을 적용한 스튜디오 수업을 수행하였으며 이 후, 학생들을 대상으로 디자인비교 실험을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 실내디자인 분야에서 학생들의 창의성 평가를 위해 개발된 평가도구를 활용한 평가방법은 유효하였다. 실험군 B는 대부분의 평가요소에서 실험군A보다 좋은 평가를 받았고, 조별 편차는 있으나 A, B조 학생들 대부분 novelty (참신함)와 제3의 평가요소(3rd elements)의 점수가 상대적으로 낮은 것을 볼 때디자인 작업 시 이와 같은 측면에서 더 어려움을 겪는 것을 알 수 있었다. 결과적으로 창의성 평가도구의 활용을 통해 학생들개개인이 갖은 부진한 요소가 무엇인지를 확인 할 수있다. 때문에 개인지도로 이루어지는 스튜디오 교육에서 창의성 평가도구를 활용한 평가 자료를 바탕으로학생들의 상대적으로 부족한 능력을 키워 줄 수 있는맞춤형 지도 계획수립이 가능하며 이러한 체계적인스튜디오 지도를 통해 학생들의 창의성은 더욱더 증진 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
To evaluate the effect of design education onstudents' creativity, it is necessary to develop a reliablemethod for assessing the creativity in design. Thispaper aims to propose a creativity assessment tool byidentifying the critical features of creativity inarchitectural design. The application of it is limited to‘interior architecture’ field and the targeting subjects are2nd year students in the major of interior architecture. By reviewing previous research on creativityassessment, we developed a creativity assessment toolfor architectural design. As a case study for thevalidation of the proposed tool, we performed a studiocourse which adopted design strategies for creativityenhancement and then conducted a comparative study. The result of the case study verified the proposedcreativity tool which was intended to assess thestudents’ creativity in interior design. In most criteria,students in the group B shows higher marks comparedto those in the group A. In general, all students obtainedlower marks in 'novelty' and '3rd elements' whichimplies that students have difficulties in developingtheir designs in terms of those aspects of the creativity. Through the creativity assessment using the proposedtool, we found which aspects are insufficient amongstudents' capabilities. By utilizing the proposed tool, wecould develop a customized education method to eachstudent for supporting those insufficient aspects, whichmay lead to a more systematic education method for creativity enhancement.
