디자인과 이데올로기 사이-대만의 디자인과 정치를 중심으로-

I propose the meanings of the modern Taiwanese design by the approach method of the correlation with the ideology. It will be the point that the design is related to pro and opposition ideologies reflecting divided country situations. I analyzed it by a case study method and suggested the situation of the essential value of an ideology that had been the design of a general theory, and looked for the root of the two aspects of Taiwan design-pro and anti-ideology of the design under the strict command of the government of Martial law and the influencing results in the history, system and education aspects. I divided three periods by the ideology and its context analysis about design as follows: takeoff period of Japanese colonialization on the pro/cons influences about Taiwan design, the compression period under Martial law by Kuomintang party of pro, opposition, coexistence or harmony ideology and the competition ideology period of industrial utilitarian concepts in design thought and practice, combination of the China-West and ‘indigenization(Taiwanization)’ tendencies. I also analyzed the examples for the ideology design of three kinds with the design of the pro, anti or no ideology each. In conclusion, I suggest three points that first, modern Taiwan design has been called the visual interpretation of the politics connection of the historical contexts design in modern Taiwanese ideology, second, design industry upbringing of Kuomintang government and various ideology culture of civil class of the private enterprise and aesthetics art were practiced and third, globalization and Taiwanization showed potence in the near future in contemporary Taiwan.
