국가연구개발과제 결과물의 오픈소스화를 위한 쟁점과 과제− 한국과학기술정보연구원의 ‘P-CUBE’를 중심으로 −

When considering the release of the results of national research and development projects under an open source license the process can be approached from two directions. First option is to participate in the open source community that contributed to the development of P-CUBE, and second is to create a new open source community. Participating in the existing community requires only accepting the existing policy that this community is taking and there are not many things to choose from the KISTI position. On the contrary, if a new open source community is to be created, it will require that community to make and institute many decisions on its own. Considering that P-CUBE projects have been going on as a government R&D and the entry barriers for newly participating in the existing community, it looks more desirable to create a new P-CUBE−based open source community rather than participating in the existing community. For this it is necessary to build a site for sharing the source code and activating the community. In addition, when considering the pros and cons of the OSS Licenses, it appears that selecting BSD or Apache 2.0 as a basic license will be suitable for P-CUBE community activation. Based on this decision, it will be necessary to build the governance of this new community.
