노인 식생활 관련 국내 특허 등록 현황
Current Status of Registered Korean Patents Related to Dietary Life for the Elderly

노인 식생활 분야의 국내 특허 기술의 현황을 대한민국특허정보원의 특허정보검색서비스(KIPRIS, www.kipris.or.kr)를이용하여 2002년 1월 1일부터 약 11년간 대한민국 특허청에등록된 특허 자료를 수집 및 분석하여 살펴보았다. 검색된 총1,438건의 특허 중 노인 식생활 분야 특허로 나타난 500건의특허를 분석하였으며, 500건의 특허를 ‘식품 관련 특허’(446 건)와 ‘식생활 분야 제품 및 서비스 관련 특허’(54건)로 분류하였고, 각각 하위수준으로 재분류하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 식품 관련 특허는 건강개선 및 증진 식품 관련 특허가 179건(36%)으로 가장 많았고, 질병 예방 식품 관련 특허가 116건(23%), 연하․저작곤란자용 식품 관련 특허가 29건(6%), 영양소를 강화시키거나 섭취 편의를 향상시킨 반․완전 조리식품, 가공식품 등 기타 식품 관련 특허가 122건으로나타났다. 노인이 식사를 준비할 때 필요한 조리기기 및 주방시설 등 노인의 식생활 분야 제품 관련 특허와 노인의 식생활영위와 관련된 시스템 등의 서비스 관련 특허는 각각 25건(5%), 29건(6%)으로 나타났다. 또한, 식품 관련 특허를 조성물․추출물, 식품, 음료로 구분하여 분석한 결과로는, 건강개선 및 증진 식품 관련 특허, 연하․저작곤란자용 식품 관련특허, 기타 식품 관련 특허의 경우 식품에 관한 것이 각각 94 건(52.5%), 24건(82.8%), 98건(80.3%)으로 나타난 반면, 질병예방 식품 관련 특허는 조성물․추출물에 관한 것이 103건(88.8%)으로 눈에 띄게 많았다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the current status of patents related to dietary life of the elderly in Korea. Using Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service, patents registered between 2002 and 2013 were searched withthe key words including ‘elderly or the aged’ and ‘food, meal, or dietary life.’ The search results showed 1,438 patents,and 500 patents meeting the research purpose were selected and analyzed. They were divided into two categories: ‘patentson foods’ and ‘patents on products and services related to dietary life.’ The former was further divided into four subgroupsas follows: foods for health promotion, foods for disease prevention, foods for the people with difficulty in swallowingand masticating, and others. Also, the latter was divided into products or services. The results showed that patents on foodsaccounted for about 90%, of which the patents on foods for health promotion were ranked as the highest (40%). The numberof patents on products and services related to dietary life was relatively small, indicating that the technology developmenthas been focused on foods. Therefore, the technology for products and services related to dietary life should be activelydeveloped as well as that for foods to improve the quality of life for the elderly in the future.
