산림치유 프로그램 참여실태와 경제적 파급효과 분석

초록
산림청에서 운영하고 있는 산림치유 프로그램에 대한 관심이 증가하면서 참여자가 급속히 증가하고 있다. 산림치유의 건강증진과 질병치유의 효과에 대한 연구결과들이 발표되고 휴양을 넘어서 힐링에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 산림치유 참여자들은 계속 증가할 것으로 보인다. 이에 본고는 산림치유 참여실태와 참여자들이 지출한 금액이 국내경제에 미치는 파급효과를 2011년 산업연관표를 이용해 분석하였다. 본고는 1,709명을 대상으로 인터넷과 현장조사를 병행한 설문조사를 수행해 산림치유 참여실태와 지출활동을 분석할 수 있게 하는 DB를 구축하고 산림치유의 경제적 효과를 최초로 분석하였다는데 의의가 있다. 분석결과, 중장년층 이상의 연령대, 소득 및 교육 수준이 높고, 대도시에 거주하며 전문관리직에 종사하는 사람의 산림치유 프로그램 참여도(의사)가 더 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 산림치유 참가자는 연평균 3.1회 치유 프로그램에 참가하며, 1인당 1회 참가에 약 190,000원을 지출하였다. 산림 치유 프로그램을 운영한 2009∼2013년의 5년간 총 105,900명이 산림치유에 참여하였으며 이들은 산림치유를 위해 총 624억원을 지출한 것으로 추계되었다. 이 지출액을 활용하여 경제 전반에 미친 효과를 추정하면 1,195억원의 생산유발효과, 822억원의 부가가치 유발효과, 그리고 2,045명의 취업유발효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The participants in forest therapy program operated by the Forest Service are steadily increasing. The medical evidences on the health promotion and disease healing effects of forest therapy have stimulated the interest in forest therapy and the participants will continue to rise. This paper analyzes the current status of forest therapy participation and its economic spillover effects using the 2011 Input-Output Tables. For this purpose, we build a data base by conducting a survey of 1,709 people. It turns out that the middle-aged, people with higher income and education levels, residents of large cities, and professions and administrations engage more actively in the forest therapy programs. A participant visits the therapeutic forests 3.1 times per year and spends 190,000 wons per visit. Over the years from 2009 to 2013, 105,900 people participated in the forest therapy and their total expenditures amount to 62.4 billion wons over the five years. During the same period, we find that the estimated expenditures of forest therapy participants generated 119.5 billion wons of production, 82.2 wons of value added, and 2,045 new jobs.
