아동보호전문기관 사회복지사의 이차외상스트레스 대처과정에 관한 연구: 고통 속에서 줄탁을 통해 나아가기

본 연구의 목적은 아동보호전문기관 사회복지사의 이차외상스트레스에 주목하여 이들이이차외상스트레스에 대해 어떻게 대처하고 있는지 대처과정을 근거이론방법에 의해 살펴보는 것이었다. 연구참여에 동의한 10명의 아동보호전문기관 사회복지사를 대상으로심층면담을 실시하고 지속적 비교분석 방법으로 분석한 결과 101개의 개념, 35개의 하위범주, 13개의 범주가 도출되었다. 패러다임 모형에 의한 분석 결과 중심현상은 ‘불안과 고통으로 힘에 겨워 바득바득 애씀’이며, 중심현상의 인과적 조건은 ‘예측할 수 없는무서운 현장’이었다. 맥락적 조건은 ‘방향을 상실하고 갈팡질팡함’, ‘산더미 같은 업무량에 짓눌림’, ‘법적 지위와 행정지원 부족’이며, 중심현상을 조절하기 위한 작용ㆍ상호작용 전략으로는 ‘회피하기’, ‘이성적으로 판단하기’, ‘자기관리와 네트워크 구축하기’, ‘주도적으로 나아가기’였다. 중재적 조건은 ‘사명감을 갖게 됨’, ‘사회적 지지로 힘을 얻음’으로나타났으며, 결과는 ‘힘겹게 버팀’, ‘성장해 감’ 2가지 유형으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 핵심범주는 ‘고통 속에서 줄탁(啐啄)을 통해 나아가기’로 발견되었다. 주요 연구결과를 바탕으로 아동보호전문기관 사회복지사의 이차외상스트레스 대처를 위해 필요한 실천적,정책적 함의가 논의되었다
Abstract
The goal of this study was to investigate the Child Welfare Social Worker's experiencein coping with the Secondary Traumatic Stress(STS) based on grounded-theory approach. This study analyzed the interviews of 10 Child Welfare Social Workers who have at least 3 years experiences in the agency. 101 concepts, 35 sub-categories, and 13 categories finally were deducted. The results by paradigm showed that the central phenomena was‘persistently coping with anxiety and pain’. The term of cause-and-effect on the central phenomena was ‘the dreadful field which was unforeseeable’. The term of contexts appeared as ‘losing sense of direction and being indecisive’, ‘being under pressure by the heap of workload’, ‘the lack of the legal position and the administrative support’. Theaction/interaction strategies for adjusting the central phenomena were ‘avoiding’,‘confronting reality’, ‘self-care and networking’, and ‘progressing assertively’. Theintervening conditions were ‘gaining a sense of mission’ and ‘strengthening by socialsupport’. The results include two styles such as ‘enduring with difficulties’ and ‘maturing’. Making progress from the pain through Jul-Tak was in the core category of this study. On the basis of the results, the practice and policy implications were discussed.
