The Effect of CSR on Organizational Commitment and Organizational Citizenship Behavior of Casino Employees

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of four dimensions of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior of casino employees. In addition, this study investigates a mediating effect of organizational commitment between CSR dimensions and organizational citizenship behavior. The findings suggest significant effects of CSR on employees’ behaviors and also show that organizational commitment partially mediates the effect of CSR on organizational citizenship behavior. Findings also provide empirical evidence that employee-related CSR activities, compared to the other three CSR activities, have the strongest effect on employees’ organizational commitment. This study enriches the existing CSR literature by providing unique findings in an industry specific context (casino industry).
