생명윤리및안전에관한법률과 기관생명윤리위원회(IRB) 체계

There are so many problems resulted from the radical development of biotechnology. To get over these kinds of problems, the new Bioethics and Safety Act was passed and put in force. The act takes self-regulation into consideration through the Institutional Review Board(IRB). The act extended the scope to the research involving human subjects and human materials that it will be applied to. According to the act more research institutes are obligated to set up IRB. Also IRB has the authority(or duty) to audit or monitor on the research that was approved by IRB. According to the assement on the IRB of Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare, the administrative and financial aid could be different. Owing to the result from evaluation on the IRB that was obligated, Incetives to the individual researcher could be different. But According to the evaluation Approval as a IRB could be into concellation. The new act regarding member of IRB has problem.
