호텔기업의 안전관리 체계와 구성원 안전의식에 관한 탐험적 실증 연구

Recent consecutive accidents such as the 'The accident of KyungJoo Mauna Ocean Resort' gymnasium collapse'and 'The Sinking of the Sewolho raised a critical issue of an absence or an ignorance of safety management systemin the hotel and tourism industry. One obvious lesson through these accidents is that the prevention of accidents requires in-depth consciousness inroles and responsibilities on safety with a thorough inspection of safety management system structures in relatedindustries instead of temporary administrative access or deal from government. The aim of this study is to establish theoretical framework on the safety management system by reviewingprevious research, and to offer strategic implications on sustainable hotel management by conducting an empiricalanalysis. The outcomes of this study are, first investigated the concept of safety management system and all specific detailsand defining the legal and institutional basis and coverage amid industrial accidents are continually increasing in theservice sector including hotel industry.Second, statistical significance was found froman empirical analysis on hotelbusiness through citing 'Hopitality employers(or supervisors) Checklist' issued by the Korea Occupational Safety andHealth Agency(KOSHA).Third, there was a significant difference in the perception of members on hotel safetymanagement system between deluxe hotels and 1~3 rated hotels with respect to 'the level of management' safetyconsciousness', two factors of 'duties of safety management', and one factor of 'the safety administration andactivities'. And fourth, all variables of the safety management system affect the level of members' safetyconsciousness on regression analysis.
