국내 의료클러스터내의 기업성과에 관한 실증연구

초록
최근에 도시와 지역의 경쟁역량 강화과정에서 산업클러스터에 대한 관심이 크게 확대되면서 산업클러스터라는 용어가 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 의료클러스터를 대상으로 M. E. Porter의 다이아몬드 모형을 적용하여 국내 의료클러스터내의 기업 성과에 미치는 요인을 실증분석 하였다. 154부의 국내의료클러스터내의 기업들에 대한 설문조사 결과를 활용하여 분석한 결과는 요소조건, 수요조건, 연관 및지원산업 요인이 클러스터내의 기업 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 기업연령의 평균값을 기준으로 평균이상의 기업연령을 가진 기업군과 그렇지 않은 경우로 나누어 추가분석을 실시한 결과,평균이하의 기업연령을 가진 기업들에서는 수요조건만이 기업의 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 평균이상의 기업연령을 가진 기업들에서는 요소조건과 연관 및 지원산업의 정도가 높을수록 기업의 성과가 긍정적으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 평균이하의 기업연령을 가진 기업들은 제품 판매시장이 보다 중요한 요인으로 인식하고 있다는 것을 보여주는 반면에, 어느 정도의 연령을 가진 기업들에게 수요조건은 경영성과 측면에서 중요한 변수가 아닐 수 있음을 의미한다. 이는 클러스터 내에서도 기업의 성장에 따른 차별화된 정책지원이 필요할 수 있다는 것을 시사한다고 볼 수 있다.
Abstract
Recently, the term(industrial cluster) has been significantly used, since cities and regionsdevelop their competitiveness. Using M. E. Porter's diamond model, this study investigated thefactors affecting performance of the firms in medical clusters. This study used 154 surveys toexamine the factors affecting firm performance in medical clusters, and found that input factorcondition, demand condition, and related & supporting industry are statistically significant inexplaining firm performance. Using average of firm age, this study found only demand conditionpositively affects firm performance in firms having less than average of firm age, while inputfactor condition and related & supporting industry positively affect firm performance in firmshaving more than average of firm age. These results mean demand condition such as productmarket is a crucial factor to firms having less than average of firm age, but it would be not animportant factor anymore to firms having more than average of firm age. These results implydifferent government policy support is needed to firms in medical clusters.
