Qualitative Case Study for Sustainability Management in Korean and US Convention Centers

This study aims to suggest future directions for sustainability management in convention centers by examining current sustainability management systems and practices in 10 convention centers in Korea and in the United States. This study employes a qualitative case study approach. Contents available on the websites of Korean and US Convention Centers such as the convention centers’ policy, top management commitment, sustainability reports, etc. are analyzed. Codes for content analysis are developed and used for analysis and interpretation. Results showed that Korean and US convention centers have similarities and differences in environmental, social, and economic sustainability management practices. Implications and future directions are discussed.
