관광개발 영향에 대한 지역주민 인식에 관한 연구:경남 창원시 마산구 중심으로

본 연구는 경남 창원시 마산지역을 중심으로 지역주민 대상의 관광개발에 대한 관광개발 영향인식 차이를 파악하기 위하여 수행하게 되었다. 연구대상지 마산지역은 2차 산업 근간의 지역으로서 최근 지역통합 이후 관광산업이 지역개발사업에 접목되면서 다양한 관광개발이 시행되는 초기 관광지 특성을 보여주는 지역이다. 본 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 지역주민 대상 설문조사가 수행되었으며 이에 따른 분석결과로 요인과 집단 간 군집이 도출되었다. 군집명은 경제여건 우선군, 문화여건 우선군, 지역여건 우선군, 모든 여건 우선군으로 명명하여 분석에 적용하였다. 도출된 결과로는, 관광지 수명주기 단계에 관계없이 지역주민들은 관광개발에 따른 다양한 긍정적 혜택을 기대하고 있다는 점이다. 비록 지역주민들 제각각 지역발전의 해법은 다르지만, 관광개발에 대해서는 호의적인 태도를 취한다는 공통점이 있다. 지역발전의 위한 차원에서 정책입안자는 지역발전과 관광산업의 혜택을 원한다면 적합하고 수행 가능한 개발계획 마련이 요구된다. 그리고 관광개발 초기에 직면하는 부정적 영향을 해소하는 노력의 중요성도 재증명 되고 있다. 본 연구의 초기 관광지 수명주기 연구결과는 후속연구에 도움을 제공하게 될 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine residents’ tourism impacts towards regional tourism development in Masan District. This place is in the initial stage of tourism development. It is intended to understand the residents’ impacts with tourism development. To find the purpose of this objectives, a total of 298 survey questionnaires were analyzed. Several factors were suggested with four segments; priority group of economic condition, cultural condition, regional condition, and all of them. The findings reveal that residents are expecting to perceive more development benefits than negative impacts. Even though residents are concerning the regional development with different views, they are optimistic about tourism development. To be more successful community development, policy makers will be better prepared to propose and implement adequate development plans for the regional tourism and residents’ benefit. In addition, it is important to prevent negative impacts of tourism development from the initial stage and overcome the regional faces difficulties. This study's findings will support to guide new follow-up research.
