여행활동의 건강기여 척도개발 및 타당성 검증:고차원 확인적 요인분석의 적용

In the context of the tourism industry, even though great attention has been shown to the importance of health, relatively little research has been carried out on the influence of travel activity on individual’s health and development of a related measurement scale. From this point of views, the current study adopted the comprehensive procedures of measurement scale development recommended by prior studies. The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a travel activity health contribution scale. Towards this objective, based on the extant literature, the definition of health was operated, and then health contribution including four dimensions were purified through a means of expert judgement and pre-testing. The instrument was tested using the data collected from 472 participants over the Internet and a self-completion questionnaire was used to measure constructs using a high-order confirmatory factor analysis. The scale development procedure yielded a final four factor measurement scale with acceptable levels of reliability and validity. Four underlying motivational dimensions of travel activity health contribution were labelled: physical health, psychological health, social health, and spiritual well-being. The outcomes and applications of the developed scale are discussed both in terms of theoretical and managerial implications. Limitations and future research directions were also discussed.
