글로벌 공급망이 확대되면서 기업 경쟁력에서 동남아시아 개발도상국의 공급망이 차지하는 비중은 더욱 커지고 있다. 글로벌 구매기업이 공급망에서 사회적, 환경적 책임을 강조하면서 지속가능 공급사슬 관리는 기업의 사회적 책임과 지속가능성을 아시아를 비롯한 글로벌 공급망에 확산하는데 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 그러나 세계의 공장으로 급부상하는 동남아 공급망에서 지속가능 공급사슬 관리가 어떤 수준으로 행해지고 어떤 효과를 미치는지 이해가 부족하며 이에 대한 학술적 접근은 미미한 실정이다. 이 연구는 동남아시아 수출중심 공급망의 지속가능 공급사슬 관리의 실태와 효과를 실증으로 보여주고자 하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 구매기업의 사회적, 환경적 요구와 지원 수준을 확인하고 동남아 공급사의 지속가능 성과와 생산운영 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 베트남 수출중심 공급사를 대상으로 수집된 197개 자료를 활용하여 단일표본 t-검정과 구조방정식 분석결과는 동남아시아에서 높은 수준으로 지속가능 공급사슬이 수행되고 있으며 공급사의 사회, 환경, 생산운영 측면에서 성과개선에 긍정적인 효과를 보이고 있음을 보여주고 있다.
Abstract
Sustainable supply chain management (SCM) has played a pivotal role in diffusing corporate social responsibility throughout the emerging Asian economies, which have become as one of the factories of the world. However, there is very little understanding about how and to what extent the social and environmental requirements and/or supports from global buyers affect the supply chains in these Asian countries. In this regard, this paper aims to investigate the level of practices of sustainable SCM as well as its effects on the performance in the supply chain setting of Vietnam. By using an empirical survey with 197 Vietnamese suppliers, this paper finds that sustainable SCM is conducted with significantly high levels for Vietnamese supplying firms. Furthermore, sustainable SCM is found to have positive effects on the sustainability and operational performance of Vietnamese suppliers.
