의료기관인증제도와 병원조직 성과와의 관계

본 연구는 의료기관인증제도와 병원조직 성과와의 관계에서 내부구성원만족, 서비스가치, 병원이미지의 매개역할을 실증적으로 검증한 것이다. 이를 위해 전국의 전문종합병원 및 종합병원의 내부구성원을 대상으로 설문지를 배포, 회수하여 실증 분석한 결과, 첫째, 의료기관인증제도의 도입은 서비스가치와 병원이미지에 유의적인 관계가 있었지만, 내부구성원만족과 병원조직 성과와는 유의적인 관련성이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 내부구성원만족은 병원이미지에 유의적인 정(＋)의 관계가 있었고, 서비스가치도 병원이미지에 유의적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인하였다. 셋째, 병원이미지는 병원조직 성과에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결국, 의료기관인증제도의 도입은 내부구성원만족 변수를 통하여 병원이미지와 병원조직 성과에 영향을 미치지는 않는 것으로 나타나 내부구성원만족의 매개효과를 확인하지는 못하였다. 그러나 의료기관인증제도는 서비스가치 변수를 통하여 병원이미지와 병원조직 성과에는 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되어 서비스가치와 병원이미지 변수의 매개효과는 확인하였다. 본 연구는 현재 의료기관인증제도를 도입하고 있는 병원이나 도입을 계획 중인 의료기관들에게 인증제도의 도입이 병원성과를 향상시키기 위해 필요한 부분이 무엇인지를 탐색적으로 시사하고 있다.
Abstract
This study empirically investigates the causal relationship between healthcare accreditation system and business performances in medical service organizations. This analysis used the healthcare accreditation system as an independent variable and the business performances as a dependent variable. However, there have been only a few studies which try to investigate variables causal relationships between healthcare accreditation system and business performances. This paper proposes internal employee satisfaction, service value and hospital image cause this relationship. A structural model and several hypotheses were developed regarding the relationships. Based on the collected data from 40 hospitals, a structural model was analyzed with AMOS 18.0. The results can be summarized as follows：First, healthcare accreditation system had a positive significance on service value and hospital image. However, it did not have a positive significance on internal employee satisfaction and business performances. Second, internal employee satisfaction and service value had a positive significance on hospital image. Finally, hospital image variable had a positively significant effect on business performance. It was found that service value and hospital image were playing mediating roles between healthcare accreditation system and business performances. The results suggested that healthcare accreditation system was an antecedent of their variables in medical service organizations. At the end of the paper, managerial implications and future research directions are discussed.
