Factors related to Turnover Intention of Part-time Workers with Psychiatric Disabilities

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify turnover intentions in part-time workers with psychiatric disabilities. Methods: Participants were 146 part-time workers with mentally disabilities living in B-city and Y-city. Thedata were collected from October 15 to December 22, 2014 using self-report questionnaires which included measuresof turnover intentions, working environment, job satisfaction, social support, family support and internalizedstigma. For data analysis descriptive statistics, x2-test, t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, hierarchial multipleregression analysis were performed using SPSS/WIN 18.0. Results: The average score for turnover intention was3.1±0.7. Turnover intention was related to job satisfaction and case management satisfaction. The predicting factorsfor turnover intention were job satisfaction, case management satisfaction, male gender, monthly pay andnumber of disabled workers. These factors explained 82% of turnover intention. Conclusion: Based on the outcomesof this study, it is necessary to design an intervention program that emphasizes case management andjob satisfaction in order to decrease turnover intentions of part-time workers with mentally disabilities.
