Knitwear has wide range of applications to all kinds of fashion item and is appropriate modern people who seek diverse sensitivity. So, more diverse ways are required for creative knitwear design. Knit can express diverse textures by changing thickness, kind, and texture of the yarn. Knit can be combined easily with other material and can express touch of sensation by using after process or decoration techniques after stitching. In this paper, horizontal weaving stitch of hand knitting machine is studied to express the texture of transparency contrast in knit design. Also in this paper transparency contrast in studied to suggest a way for high value-added and creative product. As a method of study paper search in used to study the characteristics of hand knit machine and weaving stitch for texture contrast and case studies are done for knit design using transparency contrast. When applying horizontal weaving stitch transparency contrast was expressed free flow style by changing kind and thickness of the yarn, and in color diverse colors of medium chromes and brightness are used in the background of achromatic color. To use the characteristics after deciding the transparent area according to the function of human body it was knitted to maximize the texture contrast. Horizontal weaving stitch is very effective in expressing the irregular flow of structure and can express fabric-like effect by using diverse kind and thickness of the yarn, and also in an effective technique to express the texture contrast of transparency. Also diverse colors can be used at the same time and can be fixed easily so that diverse design can be tried with various texture effects.
