선행연구들은 경력지향성과 창업가정신이 창업의지에 대해 유의적인 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 있음과 창업가정신이 창업의지와 기업성과에 대해 유의적인 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 있음을 밝히고 있다. 그러나 경력지향성의 하위요인들과 창업가정신, 기업성과 간의 관계에 대해 실증적으로 규명한 연구는 많지 않다. 본 연구는 중소기업 창업 CEO들을 대상으로 샤인(Schein)의 경력 닻 이론을 적용하여 경력지향성, 창업가정신 및 기업성과 간의 관계에 대해 실증적으로 고찰하였다. 분석 결과, 경력지향성의 하위요인 중 관리지향과 사업지향은 창업가정신에 대해 유의적인 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 기술지향, 안정지향 등의 하위요인과 창업가정신의 영향관계에 대한 부(-)의 가설은 기각되었다. 창업가정신은 선행연구와 같이 기업성과에 대해 유의적인 정(+)의 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 관리지향, 사업지향 등 본 연구가설로 채택된 경력지향성의 하위요인과 기업성과 간의 관계에서 창업가정신은 완전매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study is an empirical research on the effects of CEO's career orientation on the firm performance and mediation effect of entrepreneurship between CEO's career orientation and the firm performance. The results from this study are as follows: First of all, the hypothesis regarding the positive(+) influence of entrepreneur's managerial competence, and entrepreneurial creativity on entrepreneurship has turned out to be adopted. Secondly, the hypothesis regarding the negative(-) influence of entrepreneur's technical competence and security on entrepreneurship has turned out to be rejected. Thirdly, the hypothesis regarding the influence of entrepreneurship on the firm performance turned out to be adopted. Finally, the mediation effect of entrepreneurship between CEO's general managerial competence, entrepreneurial creativity and the firm performance has turned out to be adopted.
