특성화 고등학교 제품디자인교과의 교육방법에 관한 연구 -이미지맵 활용 디자인 교육 중심으로-

과학기술의 발달과 사회구조의 변화로 인하여 노동과 직업이 갖는 성격과 의미의 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있다. 이에 새로운 관점에서 직업교육에 대한 이해와 필요성이 제기된다. 특성화 고등학교의 교육목표는 두 가지 방향으로 하나는 상급학교 진학이고 또 다른 하나는 실습 위주의 교육을 통해 전문직업인으로서 성장할 수 있도록 하는데 있다. 시대 변화와 사람들의 요구에 따라 디자인은 대중적인 용어가 되었으나 디자인 전문 교육을 받고자 하는 이들에게 디자인 개념은 분야별로 세분하여 인식되어야 한다. 디자인은 인간의 쾌적한 생활환경을 조성하는 행위로 심미성, 독창성, 경제성, 합목적성 등 다양한 요소가 복합적으로 작용하기 때문에 디자인을 물리적 결과물이 아닌 계획과 과정의 ‘프로세스‘로 교육해야 한다. 본 연구의 검증을 위해 초․중등교육법 시행령 제 91조에 근거한 특성화 고등학교 산업디자인과 2학년 제품디자인교과 수업에 적용하였으며 디자인 프로세스를 기반으로 한 이미지맵을 수업에 단계적으로 활용한 결과, 디자인에 대한 기초지식 부족으로 문제해결에 어려움을 토로하던 학생들까지도 제품의 특징을 정량적, 분석적 방법을 통해 이해하고 이를 통해 학생들은 디자인 컨셉 설정 단계에서부터 자기주도적인 학습이 가능해졌다. 또한 다양한 이미지 자료를 수집하고 분류하는 과정을 통해 실무를 경험할 수 있고 문제 해결이 체계적으로 이루어지고 있음을 스스로가 인지 할 수 있어 디자인 프로세스에 대한 총체적 이해가 가능하여 학생 개개인의 수업결과물에 대한 완성도가 높아졌다. 본 연구는 제품디자인교과서에서 미흡하게 다루어지고 있는 디자인 프로세스를 이미지맵을 통해 구체화함으로서 실무를 경험하고 전문화된 디자인 교육을 통해 학생 스스로 디자인 문제를 능동적이고 창의적으로 해결 할 수 있도록 하는데 의의가 있다.
Abstract
With the development of scientific technology and the changes of social structure, the importance of the characteristics and the meanings of labor and job is getting bigger. Therefore, it is required to understand vocational education and implement this, from a new viewpoint. Two major educational goals of specialized high school are to help students enter advanced schools and to make them grow as professional workers through practice-oriented education. With the changes of the times and the demands of people, design has been a popular term, but the concepts of design must be subdivided in each field to be recognized by people who want to receive specialized design education. As an act to create comfortable life environments of human beings, design consists of diverse elements, such as esthetics, originality, economic efficiency and fitness. For this reason, design must be educated as a 'process' of plan and process, not as a physical outcome. In this study, High School Education Law Decree characteristic is based in Article 91 research. It was applied to industrial design and product design curriculum second grader class The results of using a image map step by step class of the on the basis design process, a lack of design basic knowledge about and even students who have difficulty in solving problems speak one's mind. As one of solutions for design problems, self directed learning an image map is helpful in analyzing and comparing the markets, since this can approach the characteristics of products in the markets, quantitatively and analytically. Besides, this facilitates an overall understanding of design processes, by providing a chance to experience actual work in the process of collecting and classifying diverse image data and helping students recognize that problems are solved, systematically. This study aims to help students solve design problems, actively and creatively by themselves through specialized design education, by giving shape to design processes which are insufficiently taught in product design textbooks, using the image map and experiencing actual work.
