대학생의 중도탈락 영향요인 분석을 통한 고등교육 인적자원개발 정책 방안: S대학 사례를 중심으로

본 연구는 국내 고등교육의 중도탈락 현상을 분석하고 대안을 모색하기 위하여인적자원개발의 관점을 적용하였다. 중도탈락 사례분석을 위해 중부 소재의 S대학의 재학생과 제적생 650명을 대상으로 중도탈락에 영향을 미치는 변수를 분석하였다. 종속변수는 중도탈락여부를 나타내는 이분 범주로 나누었으며 로지스틱 회귀분석(logistic regression)을 사용하였다. 분석결과 학교와 전공에 대한 목표의식이 분명할 경우, 전공이 적성에 부합할 경우, 교수님들과의 관계가 좋을 경우, 학비마련에 어려움이 없을 경우에 중도 탈락할 확률이 낮을 것으로 분석되었다. 반대로 부모님의 결정에 따를 경우, 전공과희망하는 직업의 관련성이 높을 경우, 학과문화에 만족하는 경향을 보이는 경우중도탈락 할 확률이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 인적자원개발 관점을 적용한 고등교육에서의 중도탈락 대안은 첫째, 대학이 최종직업교육기관으로서의 역할을 담당할 수 있도록 학교중심에서 학과중심의 교육과정 개편 및 운영이 이루어질 수 있어야 한다. 둘째, 대학은 학생지원 활동을 보다적극적으로 모색하여 학비지원, 복지지원, 학습지원을 증진해야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors of the dropouts in Korean universities and to find out the solutions about the dropouts by human resources development point of view. This study sampled a total of 618 persisters and 32 withdrawers among universities. They were analyzed with logistic regression method. Results indicated that (1) objective consciousness, aptitude in major, relationship with professor, easiness of getting educational expenses had significant effects on persistance; (2) On the other hand, depending on decisions of parents, relationship between major and future career, satisfaction with cultures in department had significant effects on dropouts. In conclusion, first, it should be much concentrate on department better than on the main office in university for curriculum development and school affair. Second, the university has to support students effectively. Finally, the university should lead the parents to participate on school's activity.
