지역사회 봉사활동의 유형과 노인 임파워먼트의 관계 - 전문봉사와 일반봉사의 비교분석 -

This study categorizes senior citizen community services into professional and general services through the employment of professionalism in senior citizen community services activities and analyzes discrepancy in the empowerment of senior citizens between the two groups. In addition to the results of preceding empirical analyses, which merely remark that senior citizens performing community services enhance their efficacy and self-satisfaction, this study starts off on a premise of individual empowerment theory that self-satisfaction and efficacy may vary depending on the given activities and their types. To achieve this, the study examined 340 active community service members over 60 years of age at the Jecheon Senior Citizens Welfare Center. Frequency and variance analyses were performed on the answers of 310 surveys. The result revealed that the community service group that exploited on the professions of senior citizens displayed much higher empowerment of senior citizens compared to the other group. This fact implies that, as senior population becomes more educated, it is more effective in terms of empowerment if we were to exploit professionals and experts to educate and train other members for practicality.
