A Study on the Protection of Personal Information according to the Development of Internet of Things

Today Internet of the Things(IoT) which is the advanced scientific technology receiving attention at home and abroad recently has evolved from the convergence of mico-electromechanical systems, wireless technologies and the Internet to enable it to achieve greater value and service by transferring data over a network without requiring human-to-computer or human-to-human interaction and exchanging data with the operator, manufacturer and other connected devices. According to the development of IoT, it is applied in various fields including personal IoT, industrial IoT and public IoT are examined as follows: At first, personal IoT includes healthcare, home appliance, automotive, etc. And, industrial IoT includes factories, farming and so on. Lastly, public IoT includes energy, environment, security control, et cetera. Despite all these advantages of Internet of the Things, there is the large concern about rising the infringement of personal information to be infringed easily at any time and anywhere is increasing significantly in the process of utilization of IoT. Under these circumstances, this study will help people to understand the importance of protection of personal information which is very private and sensitive through proper management and supervision of IoT.
