이공계전공생의 기술창업 경험에 관한 질적연구
Qualitative Research on the Experience of Technology-based start-ups for Graduates Specialized in Engineering

본 연구의 목적은 현상학적 방법을 활용하여 이공계전공생의 기술창업에 대한 경험을 살펴보고, 그들에게 주는 창업의 의미와 구조를 이해하는 것이다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 이공계를 졸업하고 관련분야로 창업한 5명의 청년창업자를 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하여 자료를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 다음과 같이 4가지 주제묶음이 도출되었다. 주제묶음은 ‘학교 밖 넓은 세상을 발견함’, ‘나의 생각과 시장의 요구를 조율하기’, ‘데스밸리를 버텨내며 경영자로 성장하기’, ‘열정과 희망으로 행복한 세상 만들기’이다. 참여자들은 창업동아리나 경진대회, 직장에 대한 직･간접적인 체험을 통해 창업이라는 새로운 진로탐색의 기회를 얻고 있었으며, 창업 후 기술개발과 사업성장을 하기까지 시행착오를 겪지만, 다양한 도전을 통해 성장하고 있었다. 또한 일반 생활형 창업에 비해 연구개발에 시간과 자본투자가 많이 필요함에도 불구하고, 자금지원을 위한 마케팅과 영업에 실질적인 어려움을 겪고 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 청년 기술창업인의 창업활성화와 사업성장을 지속할 수 있는 실천적 개입전략에 관해 논의하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore technology-based start-ups experience of Youth Founder's who graduated the science and engineering college. To accomplish this purpose, researchers collected various data from five founders who have been starting technology-based start-ups activity less than three years and analysed the data by using qualitative research approach, which is Giorigi''s phenomenological analysis method. By analysing their work experiences, four major themes were found. The themes are “Finding the wide world outside of school”, “To coordinate the needs of the market”, “To live the Death Valley and then Growth a next step”, “Create a happy life with enthusiasm and hope”. Participants found an opportunity through Collegian Club of starting an Enterprise. and they go through various trials and errors in the in the start-up experience. Also there was a struggle to need a lot of capital investment to research and development. These results were discussed in practical intervention strategies to sustain the growth of youth entrepreneurship activation and business based on technology entrepreneurship.
