현상학을 통한 디자인 미학의 기조

The Possibility of Design Aesthetics through Phenomenology

초록

Background Experimental trend of the latest aesthetic theory is that premises and conditions about importance of experience has been studied in a context of phenomenology as philosophy. This study researched the Design Aesthetics to establish the possibility of design aesthetics by combining phenomenology and design. The study researched 3 methods based on 1)phenomenology through sense 2)hermeneutics as the relations between idea and material expression 3)Aestheticizing in the relations with a context everyday life gives as the framework of design aesthetics. Methods This study researched Lα phénoménlolgie de la perception of Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Art as Experience of John Dewey as the first literature, and researched Aesthetics of the Imagination in Design of Mads Nygard Forkmann, Grenzgänge der Ästhetik of Wolfgang Welsch, and The Politics of Aesthetics: The Distribution of the Sensible of Jacques Rancière as the second literature. In addition, the study researched literature and thesis of Peter-Paul Verbeek as the third literature. Result Sensible-phenomenological platform gives the present form as ‘an abundance of an appearance at the moment’ by using the Somaesthetics. About conceptual-hermeneutic platform, a method of meaning and understanding like an idea is suggested as a physical objet, especially utopian vision is suggested. About contextual-discursive dimension platform, aestheticizing is discussed as a sensory style to distributing experience of stimulation by the design media. In addition, about design aestheticizing, the relations between design and reality are deducted through ‘experience and existence’ of people. Conclusions This study deducted that modern aesthetics deviate from a boundary of traditional art so expand to everyday design through aestheticizing that sensible phenomenology, hermeneutics of meaning, and context of everyday life give. Therefore, the organized principle of design aestheticizing needs to examine the principle of ‘the filtering’ in a meaning of diversity to recognize a difference. Design aestheticizing gives the ability to deliberate ‘experience and existence’ of people, so gives a role to infer the relationship with world reality.
