IP(Intellectual Property) 교육을 통한 디자인전공 대학생의 인지도 분석

지식기반사회의 디자인교육은 다양한 문제해결안을 찾아 창의적인 아이디어를 구상하고 구체화하여 표현된 디자인을 보호하는 방법을 배우고 익히는 것이 중요하다. 아이디어와 디자인을 보호받기 위해서는 지식재산권 IP(Intellectual Property)에 대한 인식이 중요하며 충분한 이해와 습득이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 지식재산권에 대한 교육을 디자인이론 수업에 진행해 봄으로써 디자인전공 학생들의 IP에 대한 인식과 이해여부를 조사분석해 보고자한다. 본 연구를 위하여 산업디자인전공의 2학년 대학생인 동질집단을 대상으로 지식재산권이라는 IP교육을 오프라인강의와 온라인강의를 병행하여 교육을 실시하였으며 수업이전의 사전검사와 수업이후의 사후검사를 비교분석하였다. 그 결과, 지식재산권에 대한 이해도는 사전검사에서보다 사후검사에서 긍정적 반응이 73%로 높게 나타났다. 대중매체를 통하여 잘 알려진 삼성과 애플의 디자인 특허분쟁에 대한 인지도는 높았으나 다른 디자인 특허분쟁 사례에 대해서는 잘 알지 못하는것으로 나타났다. 디자인과 상표에 대한 보호의 필요성은 사전사후검사 모두 긍정적인 반응을 보였다. 디자인분야에서 IP교육은 94%의 매우 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 저학년의 디자인전공 대학생들이 IP교육이 어렵게 느껴질 것으로 예상했으나 짧은 시간동안 교육을 진행했음에도 불구하고 관심도가 높게 나타났다. 각 수업교과 내에 연관성이 있는 IP관련 사례들을 바탕으로 자연스럽게 교육이 된다면 IP교육의 효과는 높아질 것으로 기대되며 향후 IP교육을 시작할 디자인전공교수에게 밑거름을 주고자 한다.
Abstract
Design education in a knowledge-based society is important to learn how to protect the design with creative ideas to figure out the solutions. Designers need to understand IP(Intellectual Property) to protect their design. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to investigate and analyze students awareness about Intellectual Property as applied in design theory class. Students who are the second grade of four-year college in design theory class learned about Intellectual Property. They studied IP(Intellectual Property) online by themselves as well. This paper is to analyze the result of the survey before class and after class. As a result, Understanding of Intellectual test got positive answers of 73% after class. Students know the smart phone patent of Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd and Apple Inc. However, they don't know the other examples of design patent. Trademarks and design protection test showed a positive response. IP education in the field of design is needed 94%. Consequently, applicants feel that it might be hard to understand after learning quickly but they majoring in design are interested in IP(Intellectual Property). If each design class include IP-related examples is taught naturally, Intellectual Property education is able to have positive effects and it would be foundation for design professor
